State-recognized internal test (FSP)
The assessment test is a prerequisite for preparatory college students to start studying in Germany. In main courses (M course, T course and W course) three written exams and one oral exam must be taken.
Internal FSP with preliminary grades
Preparatory college students who attend the preparatory college receive a semester grade in all subjects for their performance in the first and second semester. The written exam covers German, mathematics and (physics or chemistry). The oral examination in the respective subject can be dispensed with if the average of the semester mark and the written examination results in at least 2.5 and the deviation is no more than one mark. If both grades (semester grade and written exam) are not sufficient in at least two subjects, there is no oral exam and the FSP is not passed.
